Hi r/parenting, I want to share something our family is struggling with at the moment.My son is a talker, always has been. Whenever we sit down to eat, he tries to dominate all conversation. If one of his sisters interrupts, he gets extremely angry and criticises them for interrupting. However, he talks so much that it's impossible to get a word in without interrupting him.When I try to keep conversations on track and encourage everyone to speak, he claims that I always pick on him for interrupting but never his sisters. He gets so angry about this there are tears in his eyes.I'm starting to dread family dinners, because it seems to be the same cycle. He drives every conversation and lectures the table, then gets upset when anyone tries to join in, even if they're agreeing with him.
