I have a son that just turned two. He has always been a little behind in verbal communication but he does try to communicate via what sign language he knows. I've been expressing my concern since he was about a year and a half but the doctor wanted to wait to see if he caught up.I've tried everything I can find to get him to talk but he just won't. He knows his numbers and letters cause we have this huge play mat that if I ask where a letter is he will run and point to it. He knows what things are and will point but the only words he uses are momma, dada, bannana, no, and bubbles. When I took him in for his two year appointment his doctor got us scheduled with a specialist cause the doctor is now also getting concerned cause they saw what I meant by he was communicating but not talking.I am excited to finally get my son help but my husband doesn't understand why he needs it thinking it's just a toddler thing and it seems a lot of friends and family are taking his side. I've been around a lot of kids since I have a lot of cousins, neices and nephews. Something feels off with his development and even if I am being paranoid I would rather be proven wrong then the possibility of there being something wrong and not doing anything. He has gotten better since he started daycare like his doctor suggested six months ago but he still seems behind others in his age group.Tldr; I honestly just want my kid to be healthy but everyone thinks I'm paranoid. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2GOF3mO
