12 year old planned to sneak out to meet someone she met online claiming to be a 14 year old

Ill try to explain the scenario as efficiently as possible. We got her a phone but we monitor it very closely. She had stolen a broken phone from a relative and was using snapchat on it. Someone claiming to be a 9th grader (she is in 7th) started to message her and she had planned to sneak out to meet up with this person. She has allegeldy never even seen a picture of this person. The first thought is that its a pedophile/child molester obviously. The only reason we know if because a teacher overheard her talking, in turn the guidance conseler called us and we ended up calling the policeShe has lied to us several times in the past (she had the broken phone before, her mom took it and hid it in our room, which she obviously went through). She regularly lies about doing homework/eating lunch among other things. We regualry tell her how wrong that is/ground her but she always goes back to it after a few months. Now this person has several pictures of her and she left the GPS on when comminicatiing, meaning he also know where our house is, etc. She continues to lie to us saying she "cant remember" the password to the account and that one of her friends set it upIm at my wits end. Shes 12 years old and already lying extensively and planning to sneak out. I dont know what to do at this point. We try to give her freedom but everytime we do she lies or goes behind our backs via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2INfZgE
