I'm in the process of becoming a foster parent (eventual goal is adoption) and my MIL insists that our future kid not call her grandma. There are no other grandkids so it's not like she's unfairly distinguishing our kids from the bio grandkids. Apparently, grandma's are all old and she doesn't want to feel old.I'm letting this go cause it's her name and I don't want to be petty, but damn I am annoyed. Like, yeah, you're old enough to be a grandma. Big deal.Edited to add: she doesn't want to be called by any title at all. She insists that future grandkids call her by her first name and only her first name. She is also just generally unenthused about becoming a grandma which is disappointing. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2DY4d42
