We need to just laugh at the absurdity of it all sometimes. And laughter is certainly better than getting exasperated at that-thing-they-do-for-the-millionth-time-even-though-you-talked-to-them about-it-reasonably-and-demonstrated etc.... Anyway. One of ours goes like this: [Wednesday Morning, around 7 am] Us, using louder than conversational voices: Kids! Come to our room please! Kids: * IGNORE * Us: Oh kiiiiiids! Come here please! Kids: * IGNORING INTENSIFIES * Us, using normal, fairly low-pitched speaking voices: Kids, want to watch cartoons? [utterly forbidden activity during weekdays, and certainly not while getting ready for school] Kids:YES! YES! Oh how we laugh.
