Any tips on kids traveling with family but not their parents.

My sister asked if she could take my son with her on a long weekend away. The plane ticket and trip will be his birthday present. My husband and I have decided that he will have a blast and we are going to say yes she can take him. Anything I need to know or do before sending him?
