My kid's school was put on a precautionary hold and secure during lunch recess yesterday... A couple of the older kids got in a big fight and there was rumor that a knife/stabbing was involved. As they were shuttling all the kids back into the school, my 8 year old hears the rumor that a girl got stabbed. He gets into the school and sees that his 5 year old sister's shoes aren't on the rack (she just forgot to take them off) and INSISTS that he needs to go to her class to make sure she is safe. A teacher convinces him to go to his own class for head count and that she will check on his sister for him. She brought my daughter to his class to prove she was ok.It absolutely melted my heart that in the heat of a stressful situation, my son was so worried about his sister. They fight so much that I sometimes forget how much he actually cares. It should be noted that there was no knife, no one got stabbed, and everyone was safe. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tPsVdt
