My father died four years ago when I was pregnant with my first child. I was actually planning on telling him about the pregnancy the week that he died. We had a difficult relationship because of his addiction to drugs. So obviously, my daughter was never able to meet him. She's now three years old. I'm ashamed to say that I never speak about him to her and I don't even have any pictures of him hanging in my house. Well, about a week ago my daughter and I were driving at night and she started acting very unusual. She said she was "really, really scared". I asked her why she she was scared. She's not scared of the dark or anything else that I can think of. She said "I'm really scared of the man, mom". That creeped me out and my mind raced to think of when and where she could have encountered a scary man. I asked her what man was she talking about?? She said "Grandma Rick is scaring me". I got chills throughout my body. My dad's name was Richard but he went by Rick. My dad was also kind of a feminine guy. He cried a lot and his voice was very high and sounded like a woman's at times. I asked her where she saw "Grandma Rick"?. "In our yard and house", she said. I asked if it was a boy or girl that she saw and she told me it was a boy. I dropped the subject after that because I didn't want to scare her more. I've since asked my family if they talk about my dad to her and they all say no. I've never been sure if I believed in this kind of stuff but now I have to say I do more than ever. Has this happened to anybody else?? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2t2LJcu
