I've admittedly created a monster with my 17 month old son's dinner habits. I need to reverse it asap.He eats great at daycare, wide variety of foods, on their schedule. I pick him up, feed him dinner, then he asks for snacks (applesauce, pouches, fruit, cheese & crackers, etc). Lately he's been eating less and less of dinner and instead asking for his snacks. I want him to eat "enough" so I've given in.People (pediatrician, coworkers) tell me to stay strong and don't give him anything else, "he won't starve himself".Tonight he refused to eat any of his dinner (plain old spaghetti, he likes it and we don't eat it often so he's not sick of it) and went straight to asking for snacks. I held strong and so did he. He had defcon 5 level meltdowns, but I never gave in, just continued to offer dinner (even heated up a small fresh plate). He had a small late snack at daycare at 5pm. He went to bed at 8 without eating anything else! Is this the right thing to do? Can he understand why this is happening, at his age? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2sxU6M7
