we are bad at raising our kid

Our 1st born is 16 months old and she's my sunshine. I thought my wife and I would get better at parenting with time, but as the months go by I have clues that we are doing things completely wrong.First, she still can't sleep on her own. On an average night, she will wake up 3 times asking to be breastfed (last night she even asked for it... with words!). I want my wife to stop breastfeeding and try some "by-the-book" sleeping technique on our kid, but she refuses. Then, our kid is easily stressed. She will start itching herself everytime she is frustrated by something. It's a heart breaking thing to see.To finish, my wife is not very diligent with the kid's hygiene. Our doctor made us notice twice that her ears are not clean enough, and now our dentist has noticed tooth decay that will not resorb.I don't mean to put all the blame on my wife, but every time I take matters into my own hands I fail to get her to follow me on this.I am so angry at myself, I see that our daughter is paying for our lack of discipline.Any advice would be appreciated.(sorry for the typos, I am not a native english-speaker) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ouwya4
