Parents of Autistic children: how do you deal with the constant whining/crying?

My 3.5 year old has moderate Autism. We're still coming to terms with it, and some days are better than others. One thing that is driving me to my rope's end though is her nearly constant whining, grunting, crying, or "uhhhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhh" sounds.Whenever she is told "no", or even "yes, in a second" she goes berserk. And when I mean all the time I mean literally at least half of the time she is awake during the day. Hours and hours of whining. I come home from work at 5 and by 7 I'm so fed up with it that I can barely keep it together. I don't know how my wife, who is stuck with her all day, hasn't gone completely nuts.What do you do to deal with this bullshit? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2nF4Hjw
