Have you encountered a teacher who "bullies" children?

What do you do if a teacher at school is just plain mean?I had some genuinely awful teachers in my childhood but all in all, it seemed to be part of public school life. I never talked to my parents about it -- no one did. We just knew to avoid some teachers. But as a parent, my feelings are very different. Granted, I'm pretty cautious because my son is autistic, only 3, and attending the local public school now. There is a long history of mistreating special-ed kids - especially those who cannot talk about whatever is going on at school.Only the special-ed kids ride the bus. I personally drop my son off because the school isn't that far but most parents use the bus. I've witnessed some teachers being just plain MEAN during morning drop off. I do not know who they are but there is a good assumption that they are teachers in one of the special education classrooms (since aides and teachers pick the kids up at the bus stop). Recess, lunch, and other school-wide activities are supervised by the general staff so my son might interact with these adults too.It has been really unsettling to witness but I also worry that it just isn't any of my business. My son's direct teacher seems to be much more patient and gentle, as a special-ed teacher ought to be. Any words of wisdom to share? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pni2xl
