Hello.I've never posted here before, but browse a fair bit. Sorry if this has been asked at any point recently.I have three children (adopted less than a year ago), and we have been really big on routine to get them feeling settled and secure. Part of the routine is bedtime stories. The two girls (3 and 4) share a room, and each night they get to pick a story each. They have lots of good books, but have a certain fondness for anthologies. I guess they like flicking through the pages to find stories they like the look of. Unfortunately, we have a number of CRAP anthologies. Like poorly written Disney tales, or stuff that I find ridiculously boring. So I'm seeking a recommendation. Partly for my kids, and partly for me. It's very specific! Can you recommend any collection of books that has stories that little kids can understand (doesn't matter if it's a little advanced, as I think they mostly like the sound of my voice). Preferably fairytale type stuff, but not too much "princess gets the prince" stuff because I don't really want them to grow up thinking their aim in life is to find Prince Charming. Stand-alone stories would also be well-received!(Disclaimer: I'm not saying we have a bad collection at home. Just looking for more. Although I did have to dispose of some books that I found so tedious that I couldn't bear to read any more. Or is it bare to read? Oh god.) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2pRamag
