Are we crazy for doing This??My SO and I are in our mid/late 30s.We have one 16 month old and want more in the future. We just put an offer on a house 8 hours (1 hour flight) away from both of our parents, and most of our friends (mostly my SO will be losing his close friends as we live in his home town). Our reasoning is because we live in the most expensive place in our county, and the schools are shit. The private schools here are 20-50k a year for preschool to high school. We are financially ok, more blessed than most. However we decided to move to a place with the best public schools in the state (as well as more affordable private schools if we end up going that route).Quality of life in the new city is more laid back, better weather, and basically not just a live-to-work high pressure epicenter like where we are now.We also will be moving a little over an hour from my SIL and her kids, so the cousins will be closer ( think monthly dinners in addition to holidays etc).I just can’t shake the feeling that we are moving our baby and ourselves away from grandparents, and a great long standing network. We will be getting no more family childcare, and won’t have the same support system.Maybe it’s just nerves for such a big decision, but am I crazy for leaving a loving support system and good friends to move somewhere where we know only a few people for a hopefully better childhood and education for our kids? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3c2j0s4
