8 year old daughter having issues in school.

Okay, so my 8 year old daughter is a very bright girl. When she does her homework she flies right through it without an issue and get everything correct. Her strong subject is math and I'd say her weak subject is language arts. Nonetheless, at home she does perfectly acceptable for her first grade level. She constantly brings home F's from school. Sadly it's mostly math. Some of the answers dont even make sense, and her teacher has reached out to us several times about spending time on this at home (which we do).It just seems like she isnt trying or not paying attention at school. I often find doodles on her papers she brings home which leads me to believe she can't focus or is bored.I dont think she is attention deficit or anything because when at home she can put her mind to her work and get it done fast, and correct. She can also do things that are hobbies perfectly fine without losing focus.I should note that she is not the only child struggling with this issue in class, and the teacher actually released a letter explaining that the curriculum is to state standards and above to the parents and "may be overwhelming but is required by the school district".I've tried everything from limited privileges, to straight up punishments for bringing home bad grades (because I know she can do better).I personally do not believe this is a "her" issue, but what do y'all think? Is this a "her" issue? Is this an issue with the school? Maybe the teacher?Any help would be appreciated! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2upywgB
