Hello everybody. I come here out of frustration. My 16 year old teen daughter is failing her classes due to her part time job. My daughter used to be very focused on her studies, and took pride in being in the honor roll. Last September, she applied for a part time job at a local fastfood restaurant. Our agreement was she is going to work on weekends only. After a few weeks, we noticed she is getting shifts on weekday evenings. My wife and I expressed our concerns but our daughter assured us she can handle the extra load. Time passed by, she is now on the closing shift which ends at 1:30 am, during weekdays when she has to get up early for school. This has been happening regularly that I think she is working full time already. My daughter has been missing a lot of days and is often late to class. She failed two of her three classes this semester. She refused to show us her report card but she didn't know her school sent us a copy. We talked to her about the situation and she said she doesn't have any plans for her future and that she wants to live life in the moment. We are very frustrated. Is there anything we can do about this? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3bWE17r
