My (34M) 5y/o son wants to get his ears pierced. I have no problem with it, but my wife (34F) does

We both have our ears pierced, & my wife has multiple piercings.Her argument against it is that we both waited until we were older (both around 16), & that she thinks the pain will be traumatic.I don’t see any problem with it if he wants to do it. We can explain to him it will hurt & let him decide.It’s fairly common for kids that age to get their ears pierced, & I think that part of the reason she doesn’t want him to do it is due to gender.I’m not sure if this is something I want to argue with her about, but I just don’t see the issue. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2IUdNHm
