So my son has never been a great student. I have accepted him to be average in acedemic, usual getting C's. He is an amazing compassionate individual and I praise his kindness often .However last year and now this year he is getting D's and Fs in two major classes. I have tried tutoring, rewards ($$), punishment (removal of electronics and $$). No matter what I do he still gets bad grades. He tells me D is passing and so he shouldn't be punished by me.He is starting high school soon and all I envision is him getting D's and C's and not giving a flying fuck. This hurts me bc I was very poor, very poor! I am a daughter of an immagrant. I was always told I will succeed with an education. I am almost done with my Doctoral. Education is important to me and I see him failing.So I ask for advice....what do I do to make him 1. Value his education and 2.
