[Update to] CPS investigating us from a tip they got....

The comments from last thread we're all super helpful, so thank you! This week has been stressful, primarily because we didn't know what was happening or what would happen. On Tuesday (day after deputies did a wellness check) my wife's psychiatrist called, we assumed CPS had called her which stressed us out. She had an appointment on Thursday, and found out CPS had not called her it was a coincidence she was calling to check on the meds and realized wife was distraught and scheduled an immediate session. Summary is psychiatrist assured wife the intrusive thoughts she had weren't dangerous and shouldn't have been reported, she was very adamant that CPS should not be involved in this. Doc explained intrusive thoughts aren't dangerous so long as you recognize them as foreign and aren't swayed to act on them. She also clarified the types of thoughts to be on the lookout as either wanting to hurt self or child, or thinking of ways to hurt self or child that don't make sense given the context of what's happening. Wife is on new meds, doc didn't know what meds were causing the intrusive thoughts or other symptoms so trashed them all and now trying new ones. Also they're doing weekly sessions to help track the meds and if they're working or not.Wednesday I spent basically the entire day trying to find someone with our local CPS to talk to, unsuccessfully. Automated system led to automated system and the closer you get the more dead ends I found. Finally found a person who transferred me to another person (many transfers later) I got an answering machine..... No callback. Though.Yesterday I met with an attorney and explained the messages wife sent, the thoughts, and doc's impression, lack of contact by CPS, etc and he gave some basic tips:clean house duhbe open and inviting when CPS does house checkdon't hide the thoughts own it (but... See next)have a contingency plan in place that you can articulate to show that were prepared if the thoughts should worsen or occurStress to CPS when they come that if situation or psychiatrist think necessary willing to let Mom stay with friends until emotional health is stabilizedAlways have Psychiatrist business card and next scheduled appointment handy to show CPS to illustrate we're actively dealing with itSign whatever medical releases they want, especially because Psychiatrist was firmly in our corner and was adamant Mom was no risk to ChildAttorney and Doc both think we're in the clear, and the main thing that relieved me was the psychiatrist being so adamantly in our corner (I guess she was quite upset that someone would report wife over this). I can't imagine CPS wanting to, or being able to, do much if the licensed medical professionals are actively refuting the allegations.Still no contact by CPS, so that's a bit worrying, but doc did some checking with local and said it can take a week to 2 weeks for them to reach out and if they don't call for 2 weeks good chance they're dropping it.We're trying to relax and get back to normal. This week was super stressful, I went about 4 days eating nothing but coffee, because eating just made me feel sick. There's still some raw emotions with this being reported by friend(s) that are hard to contend with. We know they meant well, but wish they had handled it differently. It's hard not to have feelings of failure or stress to hear your friends reported you to CPS, whether that's logical or not? Probably not. So it's an emotionally confusing and stressful situation all around. Also to a couple users who spoke to me via PM about their.professiknal and personal experiences with CPS, thank you!So still no CPS contact but I'm not too stressed now about it via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HILB9z
