Naughty escape artist or best little girl in the world? A somewhat scary experience lightened by a very sweet moment.

Things are hard in our family right now. Longstanding health problems for DW have come to a head in what may well be a stroke. Miss 3 3/4 has been well aware that things are different - for a start Mummy's been in a wheelchair. Yesterday she spent the whole day acting nearly perfectly which would have been a relief were in not, for her, a sign that she is greatly worried about how things are.Today was a big day. Previously we'd been dealing with what we had been told was an adverse drug interaction - waiting for a new drug to come out of DW's system and her incapacity to fade. We'd been told to expect a four day wait. We had agreed to seek further help on day five.I dropped LO off to daycare this morning and got on with a busy and, frankly, increasingly frightening day. A slow start to a midday doctor's appointment turned into a hospital visit and treatment by a cast of supportive but very thorough medical staff. At some point, practicalities had to be attended to. My MIL is looking after LO, but as she has a cold I'd promised to pick her up. This was before the BIG diagnostic possibility was mentioned by our personal ER doctor but it was in the back of both DW and my heads. I popped home to round up some supplies as an overnight stay was becoming very likely and headed up to daycare. When I got there, one of the staff drew me aside. She let me know that LO had tried to escape! I asked her if they knew why......apparently she wanted to get out and find Mummy to make sure she was ok.God bless my daughter, and God bless the rest of you if you'll take it.Edit: On the worst day I still am finicky about my writing. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2IE9awY
