I’ve been struggling with my postpartum depression and my husband and I agreed that it would be a good idea for him to stay with his parents a few days. We went over there talked it over with my MIL and she agreed. I asked her to watch my son(1) while we run to Walmart. As soon as we got back, I asked my husband to run inside and grab our son for me. After 15 minutes he’s still not back so I walk through the front door and hear my FIL yelling about since I have a mental illness and if I leave he’ll never see our son again. He went on for a while about how my son isn’t leaving the house. I walk out and began to cry in the car. My husband shortly comes out and tells me the rest of what my FIL said. Basically I can’t be trusted to not to kill my son tonight. He goes back in to talk to them and a few minutes later. My husband asks if it’s okay if our son just says the night. Fuck no, go get my son. FIL gave up on fighting and my son was outside in 5 minutes. I say there holding my baby crying for 15 minutes.
