I'm trying to figure out my daughter's odd behavior. She's had this issue since she was two, and is now five. She will wake up about eight or nine times during the night to sit up and spin her head from side-to-side very rapidly. She can do it for ten minutes or for over an hour. She closes her eyes and keeps herself awake all the time. I had to place a video camera in her bedroom to try to catch her when she does it. Me and the girlfriend stay up all night till morning in shifts to use the camera to speak to her when she starts spinning her head. We have to keep our attention to her at all times. It will never end if we don't catch her. It used to be even more violent to where she would shake the bed and smack it against the wall because she'd shake with so much force, but I think she's calmed it down since we've been onto her since she was three. She doesn't seem to have any developmental issues, and talks exceptionally well. She's incredibly smart and doesn't seem any other issues are there, aside from her having an insane amount of energy to the point where she never seems tired or wants to lay in bed. It doesn't seem to matter how many hours she plays, with who, or where, but she will never run out of energy. Personally, I think the shaking may have something to do with that energy. Doctors simply say to keep an eye on it in case it gets worse or if any other developments occur, and articles I've read seem to suggest that it could be so many different things, from self-comfort, to pent-up energy, to ADHD, to Autism. Basically, it's all up in the air. I've tried talking to her about it many times. I've tried telling her to use alternative methods of comfort, but nothing works. Anyone have any experience with this or can help direct me as to what I should do next? What would you do? Thank you. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2HqHVJp
