Curious about your family food philosophies

My LO is still under 1 so this is definitely really early to be wondering about, but one thing I’ve been thinking about for when he gets older / we have more kids all eating food is what actions, behaviors, habits, etc can we practice that promote healthy relationship to food as the kids grow up.I feel like when I was growing up it was perfectly normal for everyone to eat snacks all the time, binging, no focus on trying different foods (didn’t know what an avocado or hummus or a million other things were until I got to college), soda or juice often, food used to calm emotions, etc, and most people in my family don’t have a healthy relationship with food and are not physically healthy because of it. I don’t want my LO to struggle like I’ve done my whole life to develop healthy habits as adult and break all the bad habits I acquired as a kid.The baseline is eating well myself to be an example. Next is cooking and offering healthy whole food options. Third would be trying new things. And understanding that food is to fuel your body and can be for fun and bonding in moderation. Are there any things you do or don’t do regarding food as a family? Any specific actions you take or foods you eat or ways you try to promote a healthy relationship with food? Any mindsets you don’t want to promote or do want to promote?Any helpful books or blogs or something you’d recommend?Any UNHELPFUL things you feel happened when you were growing up that you want to change for your own family? Thanks all! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2H24ljO
