Creative senior prom proposal

Last night I took my teenage son to the mall to buy a suit for senior prom. He skipped junior prom last year but has attended a few other dances, with friends. Instead of renting a tux we opted to go with a simple black suit that he can wear again for other events.I've been trying not to pry but he finally fessed up that he does have a date for prom. Apparently he made a mug in ceramics class with a horse on it, because the girl he’s interested in likes horses. He also wrote "prom?" on it then had her younger sister deliver it to her. She said yes. Eep! This will be his first date. My son has always been a bit of a late bloomer. He is on the autism spectrum but has come a long long way with lots of great supports (smaller class sizes when he was young, OT and speech therapy, etc.) Last Fall he was even Homecoming King at his school. He’s such a delightful, engaging young man I can’t imagine anyone would turn him down for prom. But I am his mom, and yes I think he’s cool.I did ask for more details, just for logistics. His date will be wearing a grey dress so we’ve decided to do purple flowers (to match his current hair color, ha). Neither teen drives so he would prefer to take Lyft rather than having his embarrassing mom chauffeur them.Anyone else have fun prom stories? My own was unremarkable, and a very long time ago. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2K72BVk
