Paying grandma for helping with grandkids?

My husband and I work full time and our 3 and 1 year old kids go to a dayhome. My 3 year old is in preschool and unfortunately, it wasn't going to be possible for my dayhome to do pickups and dropoffs, so my mom has been doing that twice weekly to help out. My mom is retired and lives quite close to us and she says she loves the time with her granddaughter. On the days my daughter has preschool my mom will also drop by my house and do dishes or fold my laundry! My mom also helps me if I need to stay late at work or if my girls are sick and can't go to dayhome- she's the one picking up the slack. I couldn't be more grateful to her and that's where the title of the post comes in. I want to offer my mom a weekly/monthly amount of money for all that she does for us. When I brought it up, she just laughed and said that she loves to help out and if she couldn't help out, she'd say so. She says that since she's retired, this has given her something to do. Has anyone else paid their parent (grandparent) for helping out with childcare? How much did you offer? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2IG4hUI
