Our daughter is 6 and is being inundated with religion because she currently goes to a religious school (we send her there for the bilingual nature of the school)That being said, we accept that she's to learn their teachings but because we are both agnostic/atheist/don't know when it comes to our history as mankind, I'd love to show her videos on how we've evolved to where we are now, compared to 10,000 years ago.She's pretty smart and understands the concept of decades, centuries, millennium and for scale she is starting to understand eons and when and how long dinosaurs existed, etc.We got her a slew of books from the library geared towards kids in understanding about the different belief systems (i.e. native Americans, Judaism, Hindu, Christianity, etc) but to really understand the concepts of belief, one needs to understand how we work as a people. How civilizations start, etc.She has watched, with me, a couple episodes of Cosmos (with ND Tyson) but some of the material is above her comprehension, yet she's absolutely engaged in discussing our past "as humans".She understands evolution to a point, and this is purely her interests. We don't push anything on her, but we love engaging her in these incredibly adult situations because it shows her level of maturity for such a young age.She still loves to play and is incredibly imaginative, she loves to read, do math, etc. She can't wait to be in grade 1 so she can start doing science experiments, bring homework home (lol!) and just loves learning in general.So any good youtube sources or scientific websites meant for kids?We are based out of Canada, so things from PBS are geo-locked, so to keep that in mind when making your suggestions.
