For all the years my son has played baseball he has made the all-star team and usually been a pretty big contributor. This year however has been different. The first game he was a big part of, after that things went down hill. The next game he didn't play much, and the third game ended up with an injury. After coming back from the injury he has mostly been a bench sitter. Next week we go into our last tournament and he is saying he is done.I've always tried to teach my kids that quitting isn't an option, but in this case I'm starting to side with him. The trials of this all-star season have clearly taken the passion out of him and I don't want to make him more miserable on the bench if he has no desire to be there anymore.I'm also having my own issues with his coming tournament..... For the gate fees alone, it's going to cost me 100 dollars (20 dollars per entry with 4 game minimum), and the tournament is not in a location where we can eat at home and then go to the game. So I will have to buy lunch or dinner each day for the whole family. Which is going to cost me well more than I was expecting to pay (due to the game times and the location).Just reaching out for advice here. Would anyone else suggest going against my 'do not quit' mantra and tell him it's time to call it a day on this all-star season? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/28Sw6Z2
