My daughter LOVES to play. Loves playing. And I love that she loves playing, too! But, she has the same problem I had at her age: she's an only child. She goes to pre-school in a pre-school at the local university, so it's only in session during the university fall/spring semesters. Which means she's not with her friends right now. And I don't have many parent-friends (I'm super introverted) which means she doesn't usually have many kids to play with. She plays with me, her dad, her grandparents...but not any other kids.Suffice it to say, I know she LONGS to have a least one friend with her to play with. Why? Because she. Loves. To play.Which is awesome. Kids are supposed to play.As for me? I will do ALL THE THINGS with my girl...I will take walks, push her on the swings, play a board game, go bowling, skating, watch movies, go to the local community theater, etc., etc....But I hate. Playing. Pretend. It's so boring! There's no drama.Suffice it to say, most days of the week I set a little timer and I'll get down there and play Barbies or whatever else she wants to play. And our bathtime routine involves about 10-15 mins of pretend play in the bath together once her hair is washed. So, I DO play with her.But playing pretend is haaaarrrrrdd.Anyone else?
