Natural consequences for a 4.5-year-old who has started to lie?

Our oldest child started lying about the smallest thing (at least!).Where's your brother's toy?I don't know. (in his hands)Did you make this mess? No! (he did)This kind of thing. Nothing big that we've been able to tell. It's happened enough times over the last couple of weeks that I'm starting to think he needs some consequences in addition to "we don't lie; lying is wrong; lying is serious" type of conversation.Have you used any natural consequences for lying that helped/worked? Anything else?Thank you! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Iu9AKG
