Hey people's first time dad here (9 month old), just some tips I've found or came across which have seemed to make everything a lot easier.

1- routine routine routine. So important as soon as bubs is home from hospital try and get them into a routine. We had the house as loud and bright during day hours then dark and whispher level at night. It seemed to help. Tried to get bubs to have a nap after being awake for a max of 2 maybe sometimes 3 hours.2- Purchase a snooza/Snuza- they clip onto bubs nappy when they sleep, mainly for bassinet use. If bubs breathing slows down it will send out a quiet vibration to get them breathing again IF and that's a huge IF that fails an alarm will sound loud enough to wake you up and enough time to get bubs breathing.3- If mumma is too tired or not expressing ignore the stigma that breast is best and find a formula that bubs will love and not cause constipation. It will save mumma so much energy and time. In Australia we used Karicare.4- Don't be afraid to co-sleep, if Bubs won't settle just put them in the bed with you, we've done this a lot, and just made sure all doonas and such were down to like our waists.5- The bad days are more often than not followed by a good day.6- Digital themometers are a life saver if you get hella anxious about temperatures, easy to use and non invasive.7- When bubs is a new born they will make a lot of sounds while getting themselves to sleep. It's them learning to breathe through nose and mouth. You will freak out on occasion. If worries persist speak to a doctor or nurse on call.8- Tog sleeping bags are fantastic.9- If using Formula always purchase another tin when you're half way through just incase your local shops have none in stock.10- Just enjoy your time with bubba. It goes so fast. You'll be surprised at just how little sleep you can survive on.If you guys have any other questions. Feel free to ask :) via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2IPBIHA
