Parents and partners with epilepsy

My partner and I are considering having/adopting children together in the future.Until he met me, he was mostly against himself ever having children, largely due to the fact that he has epilepsy and didn't want to risk passing that on to his offspring.I have a child already (2M) from a previous relationship, and always envisioned myself having more than one. I don't care about giving birth again, I always thought it would be nice to give birth to one or two and then adopt/foster more.I've never had a close relationship with someone who has epilepsy, so this is my first close encounter with it.He had a seizure almost a year ago, and luckily was mostly unscathed. I'm kind of a neurotic mama, so I don't allow him to drive with my son in the car and I don't allow him to watch/care for my son alone for any extended period of time. I know it hurts him, but I just hate the possibility of him driving down the street and having a seizure or something happening. My question is: anyone have any advice on how they cope with being a parent or a partner to someone with epilepsy, and how does it affect daily life with children? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2lHfhau
