Daughter [4] wakes us up every night about 3 AM... Help?

I've read through variations of this problem, and they all seem to be solved without need for further escalation, but we're running into problems finding a good solution.Problem: We have a 4 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. Our daughter gets out of her bed every night about 3 AM (as early as midnight, as late as 5 AM) and comes into our room to wake us up. Her excuses vary, but lately she has stuck on "I need help pulling my blankets up."We've told her no, and let her go back to her room screaming (which wakes up her 2 year old brother, who's room is adjacent). We've shut our door, which results in more screaming. We've taken away her night lights and told her she can earn them back if she stays in her bed all night. We've taken away bed time stories. But, we've been woken up every night for the past 2 weeks in the middle of the night by a quiet whisper of "mommy... daddy... i need help pulling my blankets up."So, I can't figure out where to go from here.Ideas:Lock her door -- downside: she is potty trained and we don't want her to be trapped and unable to use the bathroom. She's also smart and will use this for manipulation.Put up a gate in the hallway so she can't get to our room -- downside: she'll cry and wake up her brother, who is infinitely harder to put down.Offer rewards -- downside: I don't want to incentivize her for something that she should already be doing.Set up a consequence chart so she can visualize the consequences: downside: I don't know what else to take away from her. We've taken away treats, night lights, iPad time, TV... all that is left is her comfort blankie for bed time, and that seems like a big betrayal.Anyone go through similar? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2n8C5QI
