Just got a call that my daughter threw up all over the nanny. Now I'm sitting here waiting on my final client to show up (he's over an hour late), and wondering if I'm headed home to a walking petri dish or if she was just given a bit too much leeway with her leftover halloween candy. My husband is stuck at the hospital indefinitely because apparently no one told the universe that he picked a "good lifestyle" specialty. To top it all off, I'm ~3 weeks pregnant and two of the associates in my group just announced either their own or their spouse's pregnancies. Luckily they're due about 3 months ahead of me, so will probably be back before I leave, but I'm already dreading telling the more senior partners that I'll be out. I know it's my right, and I know they'll be supportive, but I feel like I'll be letting everyone down. Additionally, I'll be gradually sidelined in the months to come to prepare for my absence. I know this happens to everyone who takes extended leave, it still feels really crappy when I'm asked to delegate clients and cases.Today blows and unless there's rock solid proof the Halloween candy is poisoned, I'm eating most of it tonight. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zgrE56
