My LO has had awful eczema for five months now. That means she's had this for longer than she's been healthy, as she's only nine months old now. Her time with eczema has been a complete nightmare for our entire family. It got so severe that she started losing weight aggressively, lost all her hair and was completely unable to sleep at night on account of her discomfort. She would spend her days scratching herself bloody band twitching from sleep deprivationWe read it all, consulted all the doctors and tried it all and it wasn't until we met our current pediatrician that we got a bit of a relief in our life.I'm sure everybody dealing with this has read everything they can find both online and in print on how to reduce the discomfort. While I can't recommend the specific prescription medicine my daughter takes now daily as that needs to be prescribed by a doctor, I want to share one piece of advice that has helped us tremendously. We have started moisturising her pajamas on top of treating her skin. Her skin treatment consists of hydrocortisone+moisturiser+coconut oil to trap in the moisture. In addition to this, we turn her jammies inside out and moisturise them with a combination of equal parts of Vaseline and a creme called galaxal base. This practice which was recommended by our doctor has helped us so much as it keeps her skin from drying out overnight. I hope this helps you, too. I've read so much about eczema and haven't come across this advice, so if it helps just one family with the absolute nightmare that is eczema, then this was time well spent. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2BnN7aM
