For the longest time, we'd wait in our 2.5yo's room for him to sleep, usually just sitting in his rocker and wiating. Most nights this took 10-15 minutes, but it slowly started dragging on and on and he wouldn't go down without one of us RIGHT next to his bed. On top of this, he began getting up and coming to our room. We got in a bad habit of just letting him because we were tired and he'd sleep.Well, we decided enough of this crap and have been reading stories, putting him to bed, kissing and leaving. Every night this has resulted in screaming fits and freakouts (currently on hour 2 of the freakout. He did well one night when we left the door open, so we've been trying that but it just invites him to get up and come to the door....and if we close it....holy hell, the wrath. We've been doing the thing where the first time your hug and comfort, then tell him to go to bed and then just take him to his bed silently on subsequent flair ups.Really just looking for some advice. Don't really want to be dealing with the stress of hearing him scream for over an hour.THANKS! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2yJbvpO
