Almost 10 y.o. doesn't want to bath herself

I have a super well behaved awesome developmentally normal kid. She is sensitive, loving and makes great attachments/relationships.BUT ... she hates showering/bathing. She will go 5+ days without showering (split family, can be hard to keep track) because someone doesn't basically force her to do it.She INSISTS on someone "helping her" and almost turns to tears when I won't. I've been putting my foot down and refusing and she becomes really emotional because she "simply can't do it". I don't wash her body of course, but she wants me to wash her hair. In her defence her hair does always come out a mess after she does it herself but she could be doing that on purpose.I don't want to mean. I guess maybe hair washing is soothing for her or something? She is starting puberty (tanner stage 1-2) and I know she is going to want privacy eventually but as of now she is super open. She has always been a bit of a baby and not very dependent AKA I help her out a lot at home.Any suggestions? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2Ao0sPo
