So my daughter is 5 and we live in a great school district. My husband and I have thought about buying a house outside of this district but we stay mostly because it has the best scores of all the districts near us. Recently, however, we have discovered that the elementary school my daughter will be attending has the lowest rating of all elementary schools in the district. Our district is large, with four elementary schools, and the school she would be attending is rated at 6/10 based on a school-rating website. All other schools are 9-10 on this website. Obviously, I don't know that much about school ratings, or how reliable these websites really are, but I want my daughter to have the best education possible and I'm starting to get worried..The biggest red flag for me with this school is that it scored really low on the progress of the students section, meaning they don't advance as far each year as the other schools..Has anyone had this issue? Are the ratings on the schools not really accurate? Should we attempt to switch her to a different elementary school within the district? Thanks for any ideas!!Tl;dr Daughter's elementary school lowest rating in district, should we switch? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2ukTeLE
