I hope this is in the right forum. I live in a very dangerous area, lots of gang violence and theft mainly. Moving is not an option right now. I live with my baby's father, his dad who is a former cop, and my NEW baby.I am concerned for our safety. When my s/o is at work, I am alone. We live in a huge complex that lots of people live in but our floor is always empty. We live on the third floor, across our bedroom window is the roof, no windows. We never really thought there'd be a way for someone to see in and ALWAYS had it open, so that lack of keeping an eye out is our fault. But one day when he and I were laying in bed relaxing, I saw a man watching directly into our window from across the roof. I screamed and pointed to show my partner and the man ran off. My s/o went to the roof to find the person but he was gone. We had sex several times with that window open so only God knows what that man saw. It was dark so I couldn't get any look at a facial profile.Other than that some strange things have happened, such as when getting in my car across the street before work on morning, I looked down to do something, looked back up and a man literally had his hands and face squished against my window. I don't believe it was the same person as the peeing tom but who knows. Either way, highly concerning. My panties and bras have also been stolen from our laundry. All this mentioned has happened in a course of four months. I am starting to become very worried for my safety. I know peeping toms usually escalate. I don't know if I have a stalker but I need to watch my back, I'm very worried for when I'm alone at home with my son. I have to continue doing laundry, going out to the store, etc. I am just very concerned. We never reported the peeping because his former cop father said there probably wasn't much the police could do since we couldn't see to get a description. It's been months now so it's a little bit late to do it. There is apartment "security" but they never come to our part of the complex. I plan to get a portable tazer and a bolt on the door but don't know what else to do. Advice? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2uWczDt
