I do not know where my brain was, but I bought the kids new ipads. Basically, our ipads were old. One got broken. The other one was an original ipad mini and barely ran. It is good for reading or videos, but not for apps because it is so slow.Sad part is, I knew knew knew knew how quickly children can get addicted to the computers and pads. Now, just 2-3 weeks after buy the pads, they wake up asking for the pads. They throw tantrums all day long. When they do have the pads, they constantly try to add more and more apps. They are 5 and 7 yrs old. They have both lost all interest in any outside activities. Today, I just put the pads up and said no more. My 7 yr old is growling at me now! They do not even want to go to the gym or the playground or anything. They just want to have the ipads. I am on the verge of selling these pads at a loss.I had visions of educational apps and for me, reading books on them. Instead, I have tantrums and screaming. I cannot even use one without one of the small children screaming that they want it. I cannot even guess how many times they whined or cried at me that they want the ipad while I typed this. What should I do? I screwed up, obviously. Should I sell them? Should I just put heavier controls on them and remove the app store and tell them they get what they get and stop throwing the fit? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tBlZB1
