I am pretty sure that I am not the only person who has had this happen, but it's pretty annoying. My 2 year old daughter takes after me, in a sense that she doesn't like pinks, purples, unicorns, or rainbows, and doesn't like doing anything with her hair (styles).I also have 2 boys (3 yrs & 4 mos), so you can imagine how much I also hear "Wow! You have your hands full!"It seems that even though my daughter has shoulder length hair and wears normal toddler girls' clothes (just not in "cliche girly colors") she gets mistaken for a boy quite often. Even when she is wearing her favorite light up Elsa shoes. I feel bad for her. I don't know what to do. Sometimes I just smile and say nothing, other times I say "OK 'Anna', it's time to go, say bye-bye!" Additionally, she does enjoy normal activities that girls her age like. How do I "politely" tell people she's not a boy? And how do I tell people to fuck off and stop commenting on "having my hands full"? I'm so over it.. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2h0zxEs
