Childcare solutions for those that work non standard hours?

I am out of the house from 9:00am to 7:00pm, Friday to Tuesday. My "weekend" is on Wednesday/Thursday. My wife works 6-8 months of the year. She is on the road for 2-3 weeks during those months and at home for 1-2 weeks.Does anyone have any suggestion on affordable solutions for child care given our situation? I've looked for daycares that can work around my schedule but can't really seem to find any in our city (Toronto.) We've thought about daycare and then getting a nanny to pick her up but that gets pretty expensive. We don't have room for a live in nanny.
