PSA: If your kids can get in the car, make sure they can get out.

We're at a relative's house. Before we left, we got into a small argument with our 5 year old. She was pretty mad about it. When we got there, she disappeared. We assumed that she had gone to the kids' room. Truth is she went outside to pout, but was bothered by some wasps so she got in the car to hide from them. She couldn't open the door to get back out. The heat index is over 100 today, and she had just trapped herself in the car.She must have been there for 20 minutes or more because when we checked the room she wasn't there. We heard her screaming for help and were able to get her out. The doors weren't locked and the child locks are off, she simply doesn't know how to open the door.Fortunately she has been drinking a lot of ice water lately and she had taken her cup with her. She's fine now, all sorts of giggly. But I don't think we're going to recover from this for a while."I tried to tell the Easter Bunny to call you to come get me but no one came!"(´;︵;`) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2uKNigd
