Getting a lot of "No daddy, I want mommy." from my 3 year-old son.

Hey all,My wife and I (35) have a 3-year old son. He goes to daycare through the day. I work nearby, my wife works across town and has to take transit. We drop her off at the subway in the morning, then I take him to school. After work, I grab him from daycare and we pick up mommy. My wife and I try our hardest to share chores around the house, it's not always the same person making dinner, or bathing him, so we each get our chance to spend time with him. Here's how some of the problems manifest:He wakes up in the morning when Mommy is still asleep, or in the shower. I get into his room, and get a lot of "Where's mommy, I want mommy, no not daddy."When waiting at the subway, if we need to wait for more than 5 minutes, he will completely shut down on me. He won't answer questions about his day, won't play I Spy, nothing. He has a tendency to ask mommy for help with things, even when I'm the one that's available, or right there with him, and mommy is in the middle of something, like dinner prep.I can understand a certain amount of natural preference for mom, but I can't help but get frustrated at the repeated rejections. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tjuY9P
