My wife and I work full time 8 to 5 Monday through Friday. A friend of mine from high school has a small family daycare and she watches our son. She has ever since my wife's maternity leave ran out. So since he was about 3 months old. She is an amazing daycare provider and I have no complaints with her whatsoever. When we first went to her we explained that we were not religious, at all, and emphasized that we preferred no religious activities or curriculum in daycare. She said that she understood and that while she was religious that it did not bleed over into daycare and that she tried to keep it secular and inclusive. We have always been satisfied with this. This brings me to today. She told me that her sons (3m & 6m) and another boy from daycare (4m) have been attending Vacation Bible School (VBS) this week not even practicing skits and songs and will be performing them for parents tomorrow. She didn't have enough notice to close daycare but doesn't have a problem bringing my son as she will not have very many children tomorrow and that most of them will actually be performing and not needing to be watched. That's not the concern, she's brought him on field trips before with no incident. My concern is Vacation Bible School. I can't get out of work tomorrow and neither can my wife. It feels extremely cold hearted to tell her that she can't take my son and needs to miss her children's performance tomorrow. What would you do? What would you say to her? What would be your concerns in my position? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/28We3Dl
