Reddit parents, please help! I can't be the only parent that has gone through this. My daughter turns 6 tomorrow and she is still peeing her pants on average 5 timea a week. This has become insanely stressful for myself and her school and daycare. She doesn't do it at night while shes sleeping unless i forget to tell her to go before bed. Some background..... she has a history of behavioral issues. Throwing bad tantrums, being semi-violent, not listening to rules and flat out disobeying. She went through a pretty intense behavioral program and for the most part, her bad behaviors have stopped. Occasionally she'll disregard rules and throw bad tantrums. Originally we thought that she was wetting herself to act out, but that doesnt seem to be the case anymore. We then realized she has issues having bowel movements so we gave her more fiber, greens, prune gummies, etc. She was still wetting. I thought it might be her sleep schedule so i made sure she got more, and this didnt help. Then we thought maybe she just needed more structure in her routine and when she started school and her routine became regular it got better for a bit then started again. As best i can tell, she just doesnt want to stop what shes doing and go. She would rather sit in her mess than stop playing. Ive tried to take away toys, offer awards for not peeing, punish her with early bed or sitting in time out.....none of it phases her! She knows its not right and understands that other kids dont do it, but she doesny care. For the record, she is a very stubborn girl, and can be very manipulative. Ive had many adults tell me its scary how smart she is, like smart in a manipulative way. Is it possible she does it just because she can? She wants control? Any advice is welcomed. Preferrably if anyone has gone through this and please, no shaming. Im feeling like a failure as it is. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/28STsjp
