Son is being bullied on the bus. Could use some help.

Hello everybody. My son is 10 years old and usually rides the bus with his older sister, but oftentimes she is not there. Whether she is there or not, apparently he is basically being bullied by older boys. Apparently a few years ago he told a story about when he was 8 years old and at summer camp, and jokingly kissed another kid on the cheek playing truth or dare. Apparently they call him gay now and have done this for a while and the other day he kind of broke down and started crying with really specific about some things that were bothering him. It sounds like he told his teacher at school who gave him some sort of card to give to the boys that explain why you shouldn't call other people gay, however they ripped it up and continued making fun of him. He's only 10 so I recognized that he might be exaggerating a little bit here but he's definitely worked up about it and it's upsetting to him.
