My friend leaves her baby to "cry it out"

I have a friend who is very close to me, like family, but I always notice that she leaves her baby alone a lot. She cries for hours and my friend just goes and does other things like gardening and ignores her. I am a parent and I personally wouldn't leave my baby alone like that, but I don't really know if this is a normal thing some parents just do. She's a new parent and this is her first kid. I don't want to say anything because she'll probably get mad at me for telling her how to raise her kid, so I thought I'd come here for opinions on this and if it is normal. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/3aOxESU
