As a parent and a retail worker

When I’m at work I can’t help but notice how often parents try to control their children’s behavior by gesturing toward me and saying “you better behave or that man will yell at you.” As a parent I can see the perspective of exhausting all options to control behavior but as someone who is on other side of it daily I’m asking parents to STOP doing this! It’s making me the bad guy, the disciplinarian, the one the child should respect/fear. I’m just trying to mind my business and do my job, a child tantrum does not bother me at all. I’m not going to yell at their kid. Please find another way that doesn’t make me feel incredibly awkward. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2La0CCl
