Almost-2-yo sudden separation anxiety

Our son turns 2 later this summer, and has recently started waking up in the morning, and from his midday nap screaming for "mama". It's been going on for a couple weeks now, and not uncommon for him to practically hyperventilate until he sees her. Interestingly, he's gone through similar, though less extreme, phases in the past where he would want dad. He's also developing some serious separation anxiety from mom. She can't leave him in the care of child watch at the gym for even a few minutes without him screaming for her.He has an older (4) sister, and we're expecting #3 in the fall. We don't talk too much about the baby, but enough that the kids are definitely aware something's brewing. We're wondering if maybe this is all stemming from him worrying about the upcoming changes.I'm assuming this is something of a phase, but any ideas on how we can smooth this out for him a bit? via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2LjFSYX
