Being a new parent reminds me of how much I didn’t care about the holidays last year

Last year, we didn’t really do anything for the fall or winter holidays. We didn’t dress up for Halloween, Thanksgiving was just a day off of work and dinner with my parents. Christmas was just a day off and putting up a fake tree we didn’t even decorate. This year, everything is suddenly important. We went Trick or Treating with the baby stroller. Everyone came up for Thanksgiving to meet our little boy. We’re making a huge deal out of Christmas and the tree has lights and baubles and everything, even having dinner with my parents again. Everything is suddenly important because it’s his first Christmas.I was never too much of a holiday person before but this changed everything. Everything’s a big deal now. Little man even has his own little stuffed ornament he likes to cuddle. And all I’ve been able to think about these last few days is how the holidays were never this important before. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2T8VXBk
